Project Overview

House of Pilates is a new Pilates studio looking to create a website that showcases its brand and provides its clients with a seamless online booking experience. The studio wants its website to be visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for mobile devices.

As the sole designer for this project, I collaborated closely with the studio owner to understand her vision and preferences. Beyond website development, I was tasked with crafting a comprehensive branding language and serving as the project's photographer. This holistic approach aimed to present a polished and inviting design that effectively showcased the studio's capabilities.

Goals

  • To create an easy and intuitive space to schedule a class and receive information about the classes and the studio.
  • To create a responsive website that allows users to schedule classes, determine a training program, receive appropriate information about the studio, and pay quickly.
  • Increasing clients in the studio by at least 15% through the website.

Research

First, I met with the studio owner; we had a conversation to coordinate expectations, her goals for the site, and how I see the site.It is important to note that there was no website before; we created it from scratch. Therefore, this conversation and coordinating expectations in the initial stage are essential.

User Interview

I conducted eight interviews with current and potential customers to understand their needs and motivations better. I also analyzed competitors' websites to identify best practices and areas for differentiation.

Key Findings

Users want an easy-to-use website that allows them to quickly find information about class schedules, pricing, and Classes.

Users prefer a clean and modern design that reflects the studio's brand and values.

Design

After fully understanding the desires of the studio manager and the end users, I began creating low-fidelity and high fidelity designs.

In addition to user experience, the site's design was essential. The goal was to create a clean, pleasant site that communicates the studio's and the owner's direction.I created a design that seamlessly integrated the studio's branding, employing a simple color palette to achieve a clean and modern aesthetic. After establishing a palette of colors and fonts, I created high-fidelity wireframes. Following this, I conducted a usability test and a user interview to gather feedback. Subsequently, incorporating insights from both users and the studio owner, I made necessary adjustments to the design.
